ANWESHA TRIBAL ART AND CRAFTS - ORISSA (ODISHA)

Background:

ANWESHA since its inception in 1989-90, is striving hard for the development of Tribal artisans of Orissa. Marketing the artistic products of our to artisans has became a problem since long. To address this problem ANWESHA has taken steps to provide them good platform through out the state every year. ANWESHA has been constituted to make on impeccable demonstration in the fields of tribal issues and development in Education, Health Environment where people would dream of a new world order, which is more lively, sustainable and resourceful and could bring it to a reality. The community and its resources are central to the development processes and its sustainable management by the community becomes the basic premise on which ANWESHA builds up its development interventions.

For development of research in the fields of Education, Health, Agriculture, Handicrafts & other Social Development sectors of tribals and minority communalities ,this organizations is equipped with scholars from different fields who have expertise to suggest the government, semi-government, and international bodies working towards rural development in general and handicrafts and its promotion in particular . ANWESHA has the expertise to provide able guidance in terms of quick studies by conducting participatory approach and remedial measures to augment the situation in times of emergency. Since its inception, ANWESHA has been involved in projects imparting socio-economic benefits to the needy section of the society. Team of young, dynamic and experienced hardworking group of professionals / activists make it possible to reach the poor people in the inaccessible regions and involve them in developmental activities that would benefit them and their regions. Some of our major activities include a) Research, Consultancy and Advisory Services to Government & Non-Government agencies b) Establishing Educational Institutions c) Operations /Action Research projects d)Implementation of development Projects / Programmes and e) Training and Capacity Building , Advocacy, Data Bank and Networking .
